The main unit to consist of:
o A pendulum supported in a rigid frame by lowâ€friction bearings
o A pivot arrangement which includes an angular encoder to measure the angular position
of the pendulum over its range of movement
o A safety guard covering all moving parts, fully enclosing the unit
o Adjustable feet on the base of the unit to enable accurate levelling of the Equipment
o An electromagnetic safety system which holds the pendulum in the armed position
Maximum impact energy = 2.75 J
Specimens cut from 3.2 mm diameter rod, supplied as:
o 2 m aluminium alloy
o 2 m copper
o 2 m brass
o 2 m mild steel (230M07)
