Smart Traffic Lights Simulator.
The panel must reproduce a crossroads between two oneâ€way streets each one controlled by
traffic lights
and equipped of three pedestrian crossings with traffic lights too.
The timing of the set of lights must be not cyclically constant any longer,but it must be as a
function of the traffic intensity: as a matter of fact everything shall depend on the number of
vehicles present on the single streets and detected through some sensors; the distance
between thelatter must establish the maximum number of vehicles that can pass each time,
while the pedestrian crossing shall occur only on request.
The different traffic lights must be represented by LEDs, while for the sensors some pushbuttons
shall be used like for the requests of pedestrian crossing.
The presence on the street of vehicles, schematically represented, must be pointed out by
LEDs whose control shall be managed by an internal electronic circuit independent from the
PLC.
All the LEDs, with the exception of the ones displaying the vehicles, must be connected to the
terminals ofthe first left block, that shall then be connected to the outputs of the PLC; all the
cathodes of theLEDs must converge to the "com".
The pushâ€buttons, whose common shall be represented by "com", must be on the contrary connected to the terminals of the second right block, that shall be at their turn connected by
means of a cable to the PLCinputs. The closing of the "reset" pushâ€button must restore the
initial conditions.
The connectors, set in the rear part, must allow to directly connect the panel to the PLC
through two 37 pin connectors placed on the back side of the trainer.
The panel must be equipped with an internal stabilized power supply unit with the following
characteristics:
Output voltage: 24V
Output current: 1A
Thermal protection
Protection against overloads
A bipolar plug with relative ground, set in the rear part of the panel, must allow the supply of
the system at220 V †50 Hz.
The trainer must be provided with manual in English language
